For those of you looking for something to do this Saturday, this event is sure to be rad. Being the Kentucky girl that I am, my mouth is already watering thinking about this Southern food-focused night. My friends Owen and Naomi at Butter On the Endive are partnering with some of Vancouver's finest to create a night that anyone would be sad to miss. From 6pm on, the party will be underway at 503 Railway St., as Union Wood & Supply Company celebrates their one year anniversary. Still looking for more excuses to go? - Inner City Farms, and R&B Brewing Company will also be partaking in the fun.

POP UP SODA SHOPPE
Things have been so insane lately, I'm just now catching up with what I was shooting two weeks ago! There have been lots of cool food events around town as the summer quickly winds down. I was bummed to miss Vancouver's Diner en Blanc, which I heard was a smashing success. I did, however, get to attend a 50's-themed Pop Up Soda Shoppe, appropriately set at the Ridge Theatre in Kitsilano. While Grease played on the big screen, desserts and yummy treats a-plenty were provided by various venders, including local favorites like Earnest Ice Cream, Cartems Donuterie, Beta 5 Chocolates, and Che Baba Cantina. Shawn Soole, also known as the Liquid Revolutionist (and nominated International Bartender of the Year by Tales of the Cocktail in 2012), was serving up liquid treats like boozy milkshakes - a fernet float. Good thing there were lots of hula hoops around so everyone could shake off the sugar high!
